What about my girls?

What about my girls?

Truth bomb: Our company is not okay. Lots of companies are not okay. I never really thought that putting all our eggs in one basket, in tourism, was a risk. You see, ORO Leggings is just hitting it's one year mark. We've done a lot in a year, but reaching profitability is not one of them. We don't even break even, or close. So, my husband's job, also in tourism, has held down our home AND our growing little yoga leggings business this year.

When coronavirus hit last week, the first hint of trouble was one of our big hotel partners in Mexico said they couldn't pay an invoice they owe us, from November. Then, a couple of our teachers in Sayulita got sick, and of course, stayed home. So, we moved yoga classes to the plaza to try to maintain some sense of normalcy for our students and employment for our teachers. We closed our store a day or so later realizing our girls weren't comfortable working in close quarters with others, and they are the most important to us in the world. You see, I feel maternal towards them. They love ORO. It's more than a job to them. They live, wear and exude love for our company that has grown a little following because of THEM. To generalize, they are sweet, loving, big-hearted, adventurous, young women who are Mexican single moms, American girls who have come to Mexico following love, and independent unmarried badass ladies searching for their next adventure.

Then there are the female manufacturers who work in our workshop in Las Juntas, Puerto Vallarta. They are happy and unaffected, working just the two of them and producing so that we are ready to bounce back. They both have their own transportation to work, but one of their husband's also lost his job in tourism, and she has a special needs child. Do you feel me???!!! These women are smart, hard working and the best of the best. We know, cause we have learned a lot with and because of them, this year!

All of these women have been so generous and patient with me on this journey to figure out how to establish and run a company in Mexico. And, they believe in us.

So, what the hell am I supposed to do now??? My husband's work has been "greatly effected" because he too works in tourism. We have closed the store. All hotel sales have haulted and no income is coming from there. Where and how do we pay everyone? Seriously.

The immediate solution I see is moving all our positive energy to online sales. This is not the time to make big profits but let's stay afloat and keep producing.  My dream would be to make enough to keep employing this lovely group. My fear is that we won't be able to.

Here's an offer to start the good positive energy towards online sales... we saw those PE teachers requesting kids yoga at home, and moms doing at home work-outs with their kids watching on. And, our response is this: SUPPORT KIDS moving while stuck at home, just like you. Give them an outfit so they can look and feel ready.

Use code SUPPORT KIDS for a FREE kids' leggings & top set when mom buys a leggings & top set for herself. Any kids size 4 XS - 12 XL and any color we have in stock.

We are, as always, open to any and all suggestions.

Gracias for your compassion and support. xo
